Building Success

The work so far brings positive benefits to over 3,000 families a year in Sheffield's most challenged communities.  Efforts continue to build this capacity and increase the benefits to each individual. 

With 34 continued projects, 750+ places and 260 jobs its real impact in areas of significant need.

Currently we are supporting five voluntary sector Children's Centres from Phase 1 of the national initiative.

Looking Ahead

Having developed capacity our focus now is sustainability and expansion.  Members face significant challenges as funding environments change.   Common difficulties include start – up and management skills, finding qualified and experienced staff, administrative demands, competitors and parents ability to pay.

We work on solutions to bridge these gaps.  A key focus is linking into initiatives such as Working Tax Credits and New Deal for Lone Parents, building links with schools, Children's Centres and statutory bodies like Health and Local Authorities.
