SCCN began in 1997, and since then has flourished into an umbrella organisation employing 6 staff and supporting
over 30 member projects.SCCN does not provide childcare directly but was set
up initially to provide practical business support to community based childcare providers.
SCCN provide the expertise to bring community-led needs for childcare into reality.Helping stakeholders build capacity, professionalism and sustainability to maximise opportunities and bring
long-term success.
Funded by local and national initiatives, delivering targets and outcomes, our development expertise, business
support and collective representation skills are the main tools helping local communities help themselves.We help further afield too, increasingly consulting to other networks and national bodies.
